FORD & GLASGOW 2014

As Official Partner to the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2014, Ford is proud to be playing its part by providing a fleet of vehicles to keep the Games moving.

These vehicles will fulfil a wide variety of different roles throughout the Games:

  • • Ford cars are already deployed as official support vehicles for the Queen’s Baton Relay as it progresses through Scotland on its journey to the Games.
  • • Some of the fleet including Focus, Mondeo and Galaxy will be used to ensure that Glasgow 2014 staff are able to support the transportation needs of their athletes and officials throughout the Games.
  • • The fleet of Mondeo estates have been specified to provide the support cars, travelling at speed behind the peloton in the cycling road races.
  • • A number of new Focus battery electric vehicles will be busy throughout the Games working within the competition venues and keeping emissions to a minimum.
